Two-day official visit of President of Belarus to Azerbaijan completed

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has completed his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan. Alexander Lukashenko met with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade. The focus of the discussion was on the development of agreements reached during the talks with President Ilham Aliyev: the development of bilateral relations, trade, cooperation and investment projects. Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the tomb of Heydar Aliyev and took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument in the Alley of Martyrs. The main result of the visit is confirmation of mutual interest of Minsk and Baku in active cooperation.

As a result of the talks between Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev, a package of bilateral documents on cooperation in industry, agriculture, education and the media sphere was signed. The leaders admit that the two countries have no disagreements in political issues on the international agenda.

The mutual turnover reached 300 million but then shrank. Alexander Lukashenko believes that the overall trade figure can be doubled. Not only projects in industrial cooperation and agriculture will contribute to this. The Belarusian side has proposed long-term cooperation in the oil sector.

Belarus and Azerbaijan will open trading houses of each other on their territories.

The development of relations between Minsk and Baku was discussed by the Belarusian President and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade.

Experts notice that the leaders of Belarus and Azerbaijan call in their joint statement for strengthening of international and regional security.

Alexander Lukashenko invited Ilham Aliyev to come to Minsk for the second European Games. They will be held in the Belarusian capital.
