Meeting of Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation committee to be held in November

It is important for Belarus to further deepen cooperation with China. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Zhao Leji, Member of Standing Committee of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee. The politician of a really high rank is the confidant of China's President Xi Jinping. Belarus and China are connected with trustful all-round strategic partnership. Official Beijing supports such a high level of interaction only with four states, including our country. In addition, Belarus is the strategic point of a large-scale project implemented by China - One Belt, One Road. For more than a quarter century of the history of diplomatic relations, the trade turnover has increased almost a hundredfold. Now this figure exceeds three billion dollars.

Behind all these results there is personal friendship of the leaders of Belarus and China. The Heads of State annually exchange visits and hold bilateral meetings during various summits.

One of the most exemplary projects of the two countries is the Great Stone industrial park, where 37 residents are already registered. These are high-tech companies from China, Belarus, Russia, Austria and Germany. Next summer, a global economic forum will be held there.

Today, the parties discussed new projects at the Palace of Independence, and exchanged views on the quality of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation committee will be held in November. This became known after the talks in the government. The meeting will discuss implementation of the current projects. Also, Prime Minister Sergei Rumas urged Chinese investors to actively invest in the industrial and banking sectors of our country on mutually beneficial terms. Belarus and China will jointly hold the Year of Education in 2019. The practice of holding a thematic year in bilateral relations is quite successful. So, the main result of the Year of Tourism of Belarus in China in 2018 is the agreement signed in Qingdao on mutual visa-free regime for citizens of the two countries.
