Yet, the Belarus-Laos trade turnover amounts to 11 million dollars. On Monday, Alexander Lukashenko received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos. A visit of the President of Belarus to Laos is scheduled in the near future. The main goal is to switch to direct economic ties. So far, we have been interacting mainly via Vietnam. Another important point is that Laos is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. From 2015, ASEAN will become a unified trade union. This presents much better prospects for Vietnam's and Laos' trading partners.
