The President of Azerbaijan visited the Belarusian capital with an official visit. For Ilham Aliyev, this is already the fifth visit in the history of bilateral relations. They develop both in the political and economic planes. A significant factor is the long-standing friendship between Belarusians and Azerbaijanis. The parties are interested in deepening the partnership in all areas from transport and logistics to IT. We are talking about trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects that will bring mutual benefits to the two countries.
The economy of Azerbaijan depends on the oil sector. It makes about half of the country's GDP. The high cost of a barrel allowed to develop the infrastructure. Cooperation with Belarus turned out to be most welcome - this is an opportunity to strengthen the industrial potential, to create jobs and a new industry!
Over the past decade, the Belarusian-Azerbaijani trade has grown from $ 30 million to $ 300. The result is incomplete, even higher - trade is gaining momentum again. 6 dozens of enterprises with Azerbaijani capital are involved in it.
This is not only trade and machine industry, but also the food industry. Deliveries have increased significantly, says the head of the intergovernmental commission on the Belarusian side. He does not reject the idea of creating farms according to the Belarusian model in the future.
