Cooperation with Russia and the situation at the customs were discussed at the meeting of the President with head of the customs committee of Belarus Yuri Senko.
Following the results of 2017 the department works effectively. The flow of goods through our country has grown, which was reflected in the receipt of payments to the budget. More funds are collected, which positively affects the economy and shows transparent work of the business.
The Belarusian customs has become more mobile. When preparing to work in the new realities with the EAEU Customs Code, our experts conducted several experiments. This allowed accelerating and optimizing the processes at the customs.
A separate topic is work with goods banned from being imported to Russia. Belarusian customs officers regularly stop the attempts of bringing such products to the territory of the neighboring country.
The Head of State was also informed about the results of the fight against smuggling and administrative violations. Last year, customs officers seized thousands of kilograms of illegal drugs.
