President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Belarusians on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. "October 1917 was marked by the appearance on the political map of a country with a fundamentally new way of life and a proclamation of the right of nations to self-determination. The socio-economic principles formed during the Soviet Union laid the foundation for the development of the industrial, scientific, agricultural and social potential of the modern Belarusian state. Today we live in a sovereign, independent country. With our intelligence, talent and diligence we are building a strong, stable state in which the main value is a person - a real patriot and master of his native land," - the message says.
