Alexander Lukashenko sends his greetings to participants of celebrations of 135th birthday anniversary of Yakub Kolas

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent his greetings to participants of the solemn events dedicated to the 135th birthday anniversary of Yakub Kolas – the famous author, the national poet of Belarus, and the world classic of literature.

"Yakub Kolas was one of the founders of modern prose, the author of the famous poetic masterpieces. He became a true folk singer, a symbol of greatness and cultural wealth of the nation. The talented master of words reflected in his works of the highest human feelings, the wisdom and the best character traits of the Belarusian people, as well as their sincere love for their mother tongue," the greeting says.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the life and literary activity of Yakub Kolas was an example of selfless service to his people and his motherland. His creative heritage is considered to be the source of spirituality and inspiration for many generations.

"I am confident that all the commemorative events will contribute to the preservation, development and promotion of national culture, strengthening social cohesion and the glorification of the new bright literary talent," the President noted.
