President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to the family and friends of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Kovalchuk in connection with his death. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the head of state.
"He devoted his life to the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, on the stage of which he created many original and unique images. His creative path is an example of selfless service to art and devotion to his favorite work for the younger generation of artists. The bright memory of Vasily Kovalchuk will forever remain in our hearts," reads the letter of condolence.
