President meets China’s Minister of Public Security

Belarus and China should cooperate more actively in the law enforcement sphere, as stated by the President of Belarus during a meeting with China’s Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun. In particular, Belarus can benefit from experience in preparing and ensuring the safety of large-scale sports competitions prior to the 2nd European Games.

Besides, the countries should jointly combat new challenges and such world problems as extremism, separatism and terrorism. Combating cyber crime is another relevant issue.

Belarus and China are all-round strategic partners. Diplomatic relations between the countries have marked a quarter-century.

Belarus and China regularly exchange official visits. The Belarusian President has made 9 visits to China, the latest taking place in September last year. Back then, the countries’ leaders agreed to establish a new special level of bilateral relations. In addition, work is underway to improve economic relations with a transition to direct mutual investing.

Belarus-China trade turnover exceeded 2.5 billion dollars over the past year.

The basis for good contacts between Belarus and China are permanent meetings at the highest level and a strong personal friendship between you, Mr. President and Chinese leader Xi Jinping."

Minsk and Beijing - also agreed to step up cooperation in the fight against economic crime. Cao Jianming, the Prosecutor General of China, arrived today with an official visit to our country. Alexander Lukashenko noted that the relations between the states are at the highest level. And the countries are going to share their experience.
