President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has revealed details of a surprise test of carriers of non-strategic nuclear weapons at a solemn meeting on the occasion of Victory Day, BELTA reports.

The head of state noted that against the background of ever-increasing military activity in Europe, Belarus is taking a set of measures to adequately respond to the aggravation of the situation. "This activity on the defense of our country is of a planned nature and involves several stages," he said.

During the first stage, reinforced tank and mechanized battalions were withdrawn in response to the concentration of troops near the north-western borders of Belarus (which is already about 90 thousand people) in the Oshmyansk and Postavyansk directions. The issues of preventing and combating sabotage and reconnaissance groups, illegal armed groups from entering the Belarusian territory, as well as generally maintaining order in the border areas have been worked out.

Also, against this background, a surprise inspection was carried out with immobilization and bringing mechanized and anti-aircraft missile brigades to full combat readiness. "And the last is a large-scale inspection of the air force," said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to him, these inspections have shown the effectiveness of the existing system of combat and mobilization readiness, the ability of brigades to timely move to the highest degree of combat readiness
