President sets task to remove disagreements with Russia in border area

The optimal system for the entry of foreigners into the territory of our country was discussed today at the meeting on liberalization of the visa regime.

The tourism industry in Belarus is developing very dynamically. This was facilitated by legislative initiatives that significantly simplified the entry for citizens of a large number of countries. In particular, visa-free entry for 10 days is provided for guests of a number of parks, natural areas and entire border areas. Also tourists from 80 countries can freely fly to Belarus for 5 days via the National Airport Minsk. Last year almost 80 thousand people used this opportunity.

At the same time, security issues should be kept under control. Concrete proposals on liberalization were voiced by the government. Among them is the proposal to increase the stay of foreigners with a visa-free entrance through the national airport to 10 days. Also, the possibility of a month-long visa-free stay for the guests of the Second European Games 2019 is being discussed. A similar approach was practiced during the World Hockey Championship in Minsk, when a ticket to the competition was in fact a visa.
