18 марта 2019

The President has signed today a resolution of the Security Council of Belarus On the concept of information security.

This document is an integrated approach to the problem of information security. It proceeds from the geopolitical interests of our country, its location and role in the modern world. It is also based on cooperation agreements in this field at integration sites and with international partners. The concept reflects modern challenges and threats that are formed in the information sphere (from manipulating mass consciousness and discrediting values to diluting national sovereignty). At its core, the document is a modern political act aimed at the development of Belarus as a sovereign, democratic, social state. Many organizations took part in the creation of the Concept: from the Presidential Administration and the Academy of Sciences to the High-Tech Park and the largest media.

The concept of information security of our country was discussed last week at a meeting of the Security Council of Belarus. The Head of State set the task to develop the document. All comments and suggestions voiced then are taken into account in the new document. According to the concept, ensuring information security is a task for everyone: from government agencies to civil society and business. In addition, the purpose of the document is to provide everyone with access to the most complete and reliable information, the ability to protect ones personal rights in the media space and comfortable use of the latest means of communication.
