President of Belarus meets with head of European Olympic Committees

290 days are left till the Second European Games. Alexander Lukashenko has met today with the head of the European Olympic Committees. This international organization unites 50 NOCs in Europe. Janez Kocijancic told the President about the details of the preparation for the European Games and assured that Belarus will be able to cope with this large-scale competition perfectly.

Janez Kocijancic is a frequent guest in Belarus. During each visit he meets with the Belarusian leader, because the Head of State personally oversees the preparation for the Second European Games. The main person in European sports shared the details of today's talks with Belarusian journalists.

The Second European Games will start on June 21, 2019 with an opening ceremony at the renovated Dinamo Stadium. 4 thousand sportsmen from 50 countries will come to Belarus, as well as about 2 thousand trainers and representatives of delegations. The presence of heads of state, prime ministers and other foreign guests is also expected. More than a thousand journalists will cover the sporting event. 201 sets of medals in 15 sports will be competed for in Minsk, 10 of which will provide qualification for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
