Alexander Lukashenko to pay official visit to India today

Today, Alexander Lukashenko is paying an official visit to India. Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with his counterpart Ram Nath Kovind, as well as with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussion will focus on the development of cooperation in trade, economy, politics, science and technologies, as well as humanitarian sphere and tourism. The parties will also discuss the Belarus – India cooperation and new opportunities for investment. At the same time that Alexander Lukashenko is visiting New Delhi, a business forum with the participation of top managers of large companies will be held. India will be represented by at least 150 businessmen.

Vitaly Prima, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India:

"We are planning to sign a number of agreements. A great number of Indian companies are interested in developing relations with the Republic of Belarus in tourism and education."

In the course of 25 years, the annual trade turnover between Belarus and India has reached 0.5 billion dollars. The main priorities are cooperation in manufacturing, as well as projects in science, pharmaceutics, and investments.
