President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is visiting Peking University during his working visit to China, BELTA reports.
He met with Hao Ping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University, Chairman of the Pedagogical Council, Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress.
Peking University is the key institution of higher education in China, together with Tsinghua University is considered the most prestigious university in the country. More than 46,000 students study at the university, of which about 3,300 are foreigners.
The university structure includes 55 institutes of direct subordination, more than 120 research laboratories, and its library is considered one of the largest in Asia.
In September 2016, Alexander Lukashenko addressed the students of Peking University.
In June 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Peking University and Belarusian State University, in May 2022 an agreement with BSU to create a joint educational program in biotechnology was signed.
