Today, the Belarusian President held a teleconference with all the regions of the country. The President gave his instructions to complete this year’s harvesting campaign by 20 August.
The President also noted that crop storage is an important issue in terms of food security, which is why the conversation was serious. The President voiced his criticism of the government, governors, and chairmen of district executive committees. Considering the weather, the current harvesting campaign is taking place in quite challenging conditions. The President demanded that everyone be fully focused and ready to work harder – the pace and effectiveness of the campaign need to be stepped up.
In spite of the fact that at the state level, everything was done to ensure that the harvest campaign went on without glitches, inspections in the regions revealed blatant shortcomings. Some regions turned out to be poorly prepared. All these questions were then discussed with the governors and the government.
