Last week Belarus hosted a top CIS defense meeting aimed at discussing security measures in the region. While meeting the ministers Alexander Lukashenko stressed the importance of enhancing the defense potential in the conditions of complicated geopolitical situation. Instability along the CIS borders makes close military cooperation necessary. The President's position is immediate implementation of decisions taken in this sphere. By the way the parties are choosing the location for a joint Belarusian-Russian aerodrome at the moment, said the head of the Russian defense ministry Sergey Shoigu.
