Minsk and Ashgabat ready to enhance relations

The Belarusian President has met with his Turkmen counterpart as part of his official visit to Turkmenistan. Negotiations were held in one-on-one and expanded formats. Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed readiness to develop political, economic and humanitarian cooperation. The leaders signed 11 documents, the key one being a joint communiqué.

The full-fledge dialogue is proved by a large-scale joint project - the Garlyk mining and processing plant. This is a landmark image-building project for Minsk in Central Asia.

Belarus is ready to provide Turkmenistan with logistics centers in order to organize product deliveries to Europe. Turkmenistan is viewed as a platform for trading with the Arab region - Iran, Pakistan and even India.

The two Presidents took part in the opening ceremony of Belarus’ Embassy in Ashgabat.

Alexander Lukashenko’s official visit to Turkmenistan continues. Today, the President has departed from Turkmenabat Airport to the Garlyk mining and processing plant to take part in the launch of the facility together with the Turkmen leader.
