President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated People's Artiste of the USSR Yuri Bashmet on his 70th birthday, the press service of the Belarusian leader said.
"You have accomplished yourself in your professional field, spiritually enriching and filling the hearts of millions of fans of classical music with good emotions. Your activity to support talented youth, for whom you are an authoritative tutor, deserves great respect," the letter runs.
The Belarusian head of state expressed confidence that Yuri Bashmet's great talent and his selfless service of art will continue to promote the development and strengthening of cultural ties between Belarus and Russia.
Alexander Lukashenko wished the musician happiness, health, inspiration and new creative achievements.
