Lukashenko congratulateы people of Poland on national holiday: Only together we can overcome confrontation in the region

On behalf of the Belarusian people and on his own behalf, President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the people of Poland on the national holiday of independence. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the President.

"Our joint past includes centuries-old common Christian and cultural heritage, wide and friendly contacts between the people of the two countries. And we can build the future only with careful attention to historical events and strengthening ties on the principles of partnership and trust," reads the message of greetings.

The President emphasized that Belarusians respect the choice recently made by the citizens of Poland. "It has vividly demonstrated the desire to stop the senseless search for internal contradictions and external threats. I hope Warsaw will listen to the voice of its citizens with the call to live in peace and harmony with representatives of all nations and religions, will consider the friendly hand of cooperation extended by Belarus," Alexander Lukashenko said.

The head of state expressed confidence that the best guarantee of security for Poland today is a friendly neighborhood, cessation of unjustified militarization of the country and arms race. "Only together step by step we will be able to contribute to overcoming confrontation in our region. The Belarusian side is ready for this," the President emphasized.
