President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has supported the proposal to transfer free of charge into the ownership of JSC "MZKT" 40 apartments in the apartment house on Plekhanov Street in Minsk. 40 apartments will be provided to Plekhanov Street in Minsk for employees of the enterprise. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the Administration of the President of Belarus.
The building used to be a non-residential dormitory. In 2013, it was transferred to MZKT for free use. At the expense of the enterprise, repairs and reconstruction were carried out there, transforming it into an apartment building of rental type.
Nevertheless, the rent for the plant's employees was quite high. This is due to the fact that the calculation was made according to the general current norms and coefficients, taking into account all factors, including the location of the house. And at present the enterprise has no possibility to reduce the rent for certain categories of its employees, including those in need of material support.
Given the President's decision to transfer the apartments to the MZKT, the enterprise will be able to independently set the rent for housing and provide for its reduction, as well as supplement the rent for the employees who need material support.
