During his visit to the BelNPP and communication with Russian journalists, Alexander Lukashenko, of course, was asked about the remaining credit resources and even the potential opportunity to sell electricity to Vilnius and Kiev.

The head of state was asked how the remaining Russian credit resources, which were saved during the construction of the BelNPP, could be used for.

"Less taken - less to be given back. This is natural. As for the distribution networks, we have absolutely no problems. If something is needed, it's not a problem," said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to him, Belarus would like to double the capacity of nuclear energy "Then the Belarusians will be in chocolate," said Alexander Lukashenko. The President named the construction of the second plant at another site in Mogilev Region or the construction of the third power unit at BelNPP as possible ways to realize this idea. "It will be much cheaper. Here you get half the capacity increase," said the head of state.

"The main thing for me was not only to build the plant, but to have the competencies that the Russians have. We got it," emphasized the Belarusian leader. He said that he had once agreed with the President of Russia how to deal with the amount of savings upon completion of the NPP construction.
