Lukashenko: Minsk and Islamabad have really warm and fraternal relations

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Pakistan Day.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that this historic day became a defining one for the Pakistani nation on the way to independence and today Pakistan is a strong, prosperous state that is dynamically developing, looking to the future with confidence.

"It is pleasant to note that Minsk and Islamabad have truly warm and fraternal relations - mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation in various sectors is growing, trade is expanding, business ties are successfully established. I take this festive occasion to reaffirm the high interest of Belarus in intensifying multifaceted contacts with Pakistan," reads the message of greetings to Asif Ali Zardari.

In his message to Shehbaz Sharif, the Belarusian head of state emphasized that the traditional friendship, mutual respect and trust between the two countries are a reliable foundation for further deepening of bilateral political contacts, strengthening the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, expanding humanitarian ties.

"I hope that this year's high-level visit to Pakistan in accordance with the previous agreements will give additional impetus to the bilateral relations."
