The Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent a message of congratulations on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"I cordially congratulate you on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. This holiday for a quarter of a century embodies the will of the fraternal peoples to build a common Union State house together for the benefit of future generations. We have achieved a lot in a short period of time by historical standards and can be rightfully proud of our successes," the head of state noted.
The President emphasized: "Despite the difficult external conditions, we have managed to prevent a decline in production, to maintain employment and the dynamics of economic development. We are producing competitive innovative products, implementing high-tech projects in the nuclear power industry, automotive and machine-tool construction, and transportation. The share of domestic components and developments is growing. Step by step we are mastering new markets, we are aiming to cut costs and improve the quality of goods and services of the union.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that Belarus and Russia are confidently moving towards scientific and technological sovereignty and finding the necessary reserves for further development.
