President dissatisfied with state of Belarusian industry

5 февраля 2014
Alexander Lukashenko criticized the decline in exports as well as inefficient export geography expansion. One of the major problems is overloaded warehouses, which can be explained by the unwillingness and inability to trade. According to the President, it is necessary to look for new niches and enter new markets. The largest stocks of finished products have been accumulated in the leather and textile industries as well as mechanical engineering.
The main problem is the lack of export competitiveness of Belarusian products, which leads to the loss of economic growth potential. Following the meeting, the President instructed the Government to deal with the issue of stock unloading.
