Alexander Lukashenko and Giorgi Margvelashvili sign agreement on basics of cooperation

The agreement on the basics of cooperation between Belarus and Georgia was signed today in Tbilisi following the talks between the leaders of the two countries.

The document was signed by Presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Giorgi Margvelashvili.

The agreement sets forth the intention of Belarus and Georgia to contribute to strengthening cooperation at all levels and in all spheres of mutual interest. Concrete projects and strengthening of cooperation in industry were discussed today during negotiations. According to the Belarusian leader, the countries managed to recreate bilateral relations over the past few years.

Summing up the results, the Georgian leader notes that the documents signed today create a stable basis for bilateral relations in various areas. Giorgi Margvelashvili characterized the agreements as historical.

In the presence of Heads of State, another 10 documents have been signed, aimed at developing cooperation in specific areas.
