Belarus and UAE express readiness to enhance cooperation in all areas

The President of Belarus continues his visit to the United Arab Emirates. The Head of the Belarusian State met with Vice President, Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today. The parties expressed readiness to strengthen the Belarusian-Emirati cooperation in all areas. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that our country is interested not only in developing trade relations, but also in implementing joint projects and exchanging experience. In particular, promising projects in transport, logistics and financial spheres were discussed. One of them is the International Financial Center in Minsk. The project concept is currently being finalized.

There is also great potential in continuing investment cooperation, including in agriculture. In this regard, the possibility of establishing joint ventures with the subsequent sale of agricultural products and foodstuffs is being discussed. The UAE is also interested in the Belarusian experience in the development of information and communication technologies.

In addition, the meeting focused on the preparation of the United Arab Emirates for the World Expo 2020. The national pavilion of Belarus will be presented in the best format and work with maximum efficiency.

The Emirates are interested in diversifying its economy by developing production and reducing its dependence on hydrocarbon exports, so they are actively looking for new projects. In this regard, Belarus has something to offer - from high technology to logistics service development.

Alexander Lukashenko and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid continued their conversation during the official lunch. At the end of the ceremony, the Head of the Belarusian State thanked him for his hospitality and presented a picture entitled "Horses" by the Belarusian artist Andrei Sitko. Another traditional gift is a basket of Belarusian meat, dairy products and sweets.
