A delegation from the Kurgan region of Russia is currently visiting Minsk. During a meeting with Kurgan region Governor Alexei Kokorin, which finished an hour ago, President Alexander Lukashenko stressed the importance of regional cooperation. The Kurgan region is considered to be a promising partner for Belarus. In particular, the Belarusian industry is ready to provide the region’s farmers with a wide range of agricultural machinery. Mutual turnover is lower than between Belarus and other Russian regions, but such meetings are aimed at enhancing the cooperation.

Governor of the Kurgan region Alexei Kokorin laid a wreath at the monument in Minsk’s Victory Square to pay tribute to the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War.

The Kurgan region delegation is scheduled to visit a number of Belarusian industrial and agricultural enterprises. The visit is expected to result in the signing of a cooperation road map between Belarus and the Kurgan region for 2017-2018.
