Belarus and Austria start new era of partnership

The official two-day visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Vienna ended. The visit will be remembered for specific agreements among the political elite and business communities. 

The negotiations were held in narrow and wide formats. Meetings with the officials and the business forum, in which more than 200 Austrian companies took part, were organized.

A. Lukashenko delivered a vivid speech at the business forum. The Head of the State emphasized the important business issues and relevant world problems, geopolitical issues and principles of cooperation with our country. The President outlined that Belarus and Austria have huge unrealized potential with $ 200 million turnover.

500 Austrian companies already cooperate with Belarusian enterprises, and investments in our country amount to hundreds of millions dollars annually. Europe began to appreciate the constructive spirit of official Minsk with Austria’s participation.

A package of documents was signed following the visit. A cooperation agreement was concluded between the Academies of Sciences. Austria will help Belarus with the development of 5G technology, will provide expert support. A joint declaration, signed the day before, provide for that. 

The President met with the Chairman of the Austrian People's Party, deputy of the National Council. Representatives of big business also attended the meeting between Alexander Lukashenko and Sebastian Kurtz.
