Alexander Lukashenko arrives in Turkey on official visit

The President of Belarus has arrived in Turkey on an official visit. Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with Recep Tayyip Erdogan today. The meeting of the Presidents will be held in narrow and expanded formats with participation of delegations. The parties will discuss political issues, trade and economic cooperation. Special attention will be paid to investment cooperation and balanced trade.

Today, a meeting of business circles of the two countries is taking place in Ankara. Experts are working on the development of cooperation and the implementation of new projects. The economic headquarters is the Marriott Hotel. In general, this is a global practice, when a five-star hotel turns into a large platform for negotiations. Contracts were concluded here in various fields - from industry and science to IT, petrochemistry and food. 66 Belarusian companies were represented at the business forum. The total amount of agreements reached is estimated at $ 325 million.

The turnover of Minsk and Ankara has reached a billion dollars. However, the balance is negative for Belarus. Potash fertilizers form the basis of our exports. Turkish imports are agricultural products, clothing and spare parts.
