Nikolai Stulo: The Belarusian athletes should perform at high level at Olympic Games 2016.
This was stated by the President as he was visiting the National Olympic Committee. Less than a year remains before the start of the thirty-first Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. It is planned that the Belarusians will be able to get about 150 licenses. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that it will be a serious test for every athlete, coach and for the entire sport industry. So, he personally and the whole people of Belarus have the right to expect results.
In addition, along with the champions and runners-up of games Darya Domracheva, Anton Kushnir, Victoria Azarenka and many others, Alexander Lukashenko laid the Olympic Avenue. The head of the state personally planted a tree, and then informally talked with athletes and coaches.
Belarus has become recognizable in the world largely due to his victories at major international competitions. Strong-willed people brought glory first to the Soviet Union, and then to sovereign Belarus.
During the history of the Olympic Games Belarusians ascended the podium 222 times. 84 of the medals are gold. Having becoming a sovereign country, Belarus firmly established itself in the world's twenty most successful sport nations of the world.
And in some disciplines the Belarusians are trendsetters. Recent Olympic Games have shown that the best people in the modern biathlon and freestyle live in our country.
Belarus has established a good infrastructure, and now can rightfully be in the center of the world's sporting events.
