The CIS should become the political and economic centre of power, as stated by the President of Belarus at yesterday’s meeting with heads of the delegations of the 16th session of the CIS Council of Heads of Supreme Audit Institutions, featuring representatives from 8 countries. According to Alexander Lukashenko, the opportunities of such an important integration association should be used as much as possible. The Belarusian leader stressed that Belarus had always been the initiator of integration processes in the post-Soviet space.

The main theme of the 16th session of the CIS Council of Heads of Supreme Audit Institutions was modern approaches to providing economic security. Audit and control conducted by the agencies is not only aimed at identifying problem issues in the economy and social sphere, but also at putting forward constructive suggestions to improve the situation, including at the legislative level.
