By Natalia Breus: 100 years ago, security in the country was maintained by only a few volunteers. Today, the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus occupy one of the key places in the system of protection of society, the state, and the constitutional system. Today, it is a well-coordinated, highly mobile agency that solves unique combat tasks in peacetime.
Ahead of the 100th anniversary of the country’s internal forces, the President of the country paid a visit to Military Unit 54-48 in Minsk. Alexander Lukashenko often changes the planned route during working trips around the country. This, of course, gives trouble to the organizers, but allows the President to see an objective picture.
This time, the President decided to observe the everyday life of the internal troops – to see how the training of fighters is going on, to get acquainted with equipment and weapons, as well as with the life of military personnel.
