Group of Russian Federal Migration Service comes to Minsk

Migration Policy of Belarus and Russia was discussed at a meeting of the interdepartmental working group. A group of FMS of the Russian Federation came to Minsk on an official visit. One of the topics discussed during the meeting is a common migration space. In particular, consensus on many points is necessary. Common policy is conducted by the Belarusian and Russian Migration Service concerning the mechanism of migration of the Ukrainians. At this point 30 thousand Ukrainians from conflict zone stay in our country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the following figures: 150 Ukrainians were granted refugee status in Belarus, about 780 applications for the receipt of such provisions are being considered. 444 Ukrainians asked the department for Belarusian citizenship.

As part of the plan, exchange of information takes place concerning the current state of affairs, the policy measures that are taken by regulatory authorities, the legislative measures and rules about the migration of Ukrainian citizens from one state to another.


Also during the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the fight against illegal migration.
