After processing of 99 percent of the votes it was announced that Volodymyr Zelensky has gained 73.21% of the vote. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the winner. “I am pleased to note that the fraternal ties of Belarusians and Ukrainians relying on the common history traditionally make up the foundation of relations between our countries. I confirm that Belarus has always been and will remain a predictable partner, a predictable neighbor and a good friend for Ukraine,” the message reads. The Head of State expressed his conviction that joint efforts would preserve and deepen the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation, and the activities of Volodymyr Zelensky as the Head of State would contribute to the prosperity of Ukraine, peace and civil harmony.

Volodymyr Zelensky’s result broke the historical record of voter support.

It has already been announced that Volodymyr Zelensky intends to continue the Minsk process on Donbass.

Incumbent Head of State Petro Poroshenko scored three times fewer votes - 24.46% - and has already admitted his defeat. However, he is not going to leave politics.

According to the CEC of Ukraine, voter turnout was 61 percent in the country. The elections to the Ukrainian parliament are expected in autumn.
