Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Department, Press Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus: ‘The Secretariat of the CIS Executive Committee has been previously notified that the Belarusian side does not object to Ukraine's initiative to convene an extraordinary meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. According to the CIS regulations, all decisions are based on consensus and are usually negotiated in advance. We are in favor of holding consultations with permanent representatives of the CIS member states who will approve the documents to be considered by the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.

As reported by the CIS Executive Committee, the possibility of convening an extraordinary meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will soon be considered by permanent representatives of the CIS countries. A regular meeting of the Council is expected to take place on April 4 in Moscow.
