First results of Lukashenko's official visit to Dushanbe - contracts worth about $50 million signed

The special status of strategic interaction and joint use of advantageous geography for a breakthrough into new markets. Belarus has gained a foothold in Central Asia, and Tajikistan gets the necessary drivers for new industrialization in the form of Belarusian technologies, competences and machinery. 

These are some of the results of today's big negotiation day in Dushanbe, which the President of Belarus is visiting these days. 

The buy-sell scheme has not been a priority in the relations between the countries for a long time. The focus is on technological joint production and access to the markets of neighboring countries with common products. 

Tajikistan is interested in Belarusian competences, first of all, in the agrarian sector, therefore, at the request of the partners, training will be organized in Belarusian universities. The opening of several joint ventures for the production of dairy products and light industry products is planned.

"I catch myself on the thought, when I come to Dushanbe (not for the first time), that I come here as if to my home. And when people ask me at the airplane ladder: "How was your flight? Well, how can you fly to your home? So I always feel very warm attitude here, not only to the members of our delegation, to me, but also to our people. The peoples are very similar," said Alexander Lukashenko. 

"The volume of trade may be increased. You have interests not only in Belarus, but also beyond. We have great interest in Tajikistan. As we once set a task for the governments, we can increase our trade with third countries," Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to him, it is necessary to enter other markets with the jointly produced products. "The neighboring countries are in great need. I think that our meeting today, the large scale of our delegation, which came to the exhibition, which we organized a forum, will contribute to the growth of not only the bilateral trade turnover, but also the trade turnover through Tajikistan to Afghanistan and other countries. Afghanistan needs our products very much, they are interested in the development of our joint ties," said the President.
