Solutions to global security problems discussed at Minsk Dialogue Forum

8 октября 2019

Threats to peace and the search for solutions to problems of global security were discussed in Minsk. The international conference was organized by the "Minsk Dialogue" expert initiative.  Last year, we had half a thousand participants from 59 countries. Now the interest in the topic is growing, this time it was attended by 700 prominent politicians, diplomats, managers and analysts from 61 countries. The President of Belarus also joined the discussion today, sharing with the participants his views on the European and world faults and even insight into the recent talks with his Ukrainian counterpart.

The foreign policy position of Belarus is formulated as follows: Europe is our home. And we're responsible for security. We are ready to take the first step back from the brink of the conflict without preconditions.

In just a year, new threats emerged: the collapse of the Intermediate Range and Shorter Range Missile Treaty, giant military manoeuvres, new weapons in the hands of terrorists and the militarization of the Black Sea and Baltic basins. It's time to talk frankly and make a decision.

A special place in the President's speech was occupied by the faults along the Russia-Western and US-China lines.
