President of Belarus is an ardent supporter of EU preservation

The President of Belarus spoke to the Foreign Minister of Hungary about the multipolar world, the role of the EU, the situation in Ukraine and bilateral relations. Budapest has always been characterized by a good policy towards our country. Peter Szijjarto is a frequent guest in Minsk, and today he arrived in the Belarusian capital to participate in the high-level international conference on Eurasian security. The issue of security in the region and the world is more relevant than ever.

Despite the current unfair EU sanctions policy against Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that he is an ardent supporter of the preservation of the European Union.

"For some reason, the European Union believes that we, Belarus, are opponents of the European Union. You know, we are not vindictive people and despite the current turbulence in the EU and sanctions, which the EU imposes against us, you should know that the President of Belarus is an ardent supporter of the preservation of the European Union," said the head of state.

"Not because I love the European Union very much, but because the EU together with the United States, China, Russia, to some extent India are strong pillars of our planet's existence. If this pillar is torn out from under this system, it will be very bad for everyone," explained the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko once again stressed that Belarus, being a European state, where the geographical center of Europe is located, supports the existence of the European Union.

"What is alarming is that we can destroy even the bad, as we criticize it, system of world order that exists today. And we are more and more making steps (believe me, Peter, I'm an experienced politician already, I see it, I've dealt with it seriously) to a full-scale war with the use of the most deadly weapons," said Alexander Lukashenko.

"The fact that the Americans are there supplying ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainians, they should realize that they are escalating in this war. Russia will never put up with it, and neither will we. Therefore, we should resist it in every possible way, if we do not want to find ourselves again in this hot pot of not counteraction, but a terrible deadly war," emphasized the Belarusian leader.

"Our position on Ukraine is about the same as Hungary's. We don't need this war, and neither do you. We are neighbors. It's a war in our house," noted the head of state.

The positions of Belarus and Hungary on Ukraine are similar - both Minsk and Budapest call for a peaceful settlement as soon as possible. Alexander Lukashenko believes that, despite the pressure from the ocean, the Europeans can end this war. Much here depends on Europe - as they say, if only there was a will. Hungary's voice in the EU in favor of such steps is sounding louder and louder.

An invitation to come to Belarus at any time was made by Alexander Lukashenko to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
