CIS observer mission to take part in election monitoring in Belarus, Azerbaijan and Russia

The CIS observer mission will work at the parliamentary elections in our country. The CIS Executive Committee is already making preparations. This was reported by Secretary General of the Commonwealth Sergei Lebedev. Today the CIS post-presidents summarized the results of work for the year, analyzed the implementation of plans for further development of post-Soviet integration. Several election campaigns will be held in its space next year. In addition to Belarus, the CIS will send observers to Azerbaijan and Russia.  

Sergei Lebedev, CIS Secretary General:

Next year is the year of elections in the leading states of our Commonwealth. The first presidential elections will be held in February in Azerbaijan, then elections in Belarus, and in March the presidential elections in the Russian Federation. The CIS Executive Committee is already preparing to observe these elections. We have received invitations to form and send a CIS mission to observe these elections. I hope we will be able to cope with this mission. We have already received a written invitation from Azerbaijan and oral invitations from the others.

International organization on Russian language will appear in CIS

The topical problems of the CIS will soon be discussed by the heads of governments. Their meeting will be held in Moscow in the format of free exchange of views, with an emphasis on the activation of humanitarian and cultural cooperation. In particular, it is expected that next year an international organization for the Russian language will appear in the Commonwealth. The preparations are already underway.
