Minsk hosts CSTO summit

Leaders of 6 countries gathered to discuss issues of Eurasian security in the capital of Belarus: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

Minsk once again became the center of the Eurasian policy. Such summits have their own protocol traditions. Leaders of the six countries will first hold talks in a narrow composition, then in an expanded one. There are about 20 questions on the agenda. Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a number of documents. This year, Belarus is the chairman of the CSTO. Therefore, the meeting will sum up the results of this work. Among the Belarusian initiatives: strengthening the role of the organization in the international arena, enhancing the operational readiness of the collective forces with an emphasis on the practical component, improving the crisis response system and, in general, deepening military-technical cooperation and ensuring economic security.
