Martin Sajdik: We haven’t yet approached the conflict resolution

Today, at the end of the next meeting of the Tripartite Contact Group on resolving the situation in the East of Ukraine, OSCE Ambassador Martin Sajdik noted with regret that they could not get closer to the end of the conflict so far.

Martin Saydik, OSCE Special Representative in the Tripartite Contact Group: “The humanitarian working group welcomed the transfer of 33 non-conflict prisoners to the territory controlled by the government of Ukraine. The transfer took place on February 7. The group continued to discuss issues related to further transfer of such prisoners.”

Earlier, the OSCE Special Representative noted the effectiveness of the Contact Group. Last year the number of civilian casualties fell to the lowest level since the beginning of the conflict. As Martin Sajdik emphasized, the only way to peace in Donbass is "full implementation of Minsk Agreements by all parties."
