Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with the head of Russia's main state development corporation Igor Shuvalov on September 30. VEB.Russia invests in important infrastructure and industrial projects for the country. Belarus is its reliable and proven partner. One of the largest joint projects, the BelNPP, confirmed the efficiency of the Belarusian-Russian investment cooperation. Alexander Lukashenko is confident that it will continue in the same positive vein. The main thing is to work according to the law

"You're not only our long-standing partner, a friend of Belarus, but the head of a major Russian international bank. The bank is actively developing, despite all the problems that our partners on the other side create for us. As far as Belarus-Russia cooperation and the participation of your bank are concerned, I should say that you take part in financing of our enterprises and investment projects, mainly the BelNPP," said Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the President, VEB Corporation can participate in the implementation of Belarusian-Russian projects, including import substitution. "We have finally agreed on these issues, including the rates of financing. In short, we welcome your more active participation in Belarus. We will support you in every possible way," underlined the head of the state.

"One condition is to work by the rules, defined in the banking sector, by the laws that we have in Belarus. I know that bankers are very careful in this regard, they are trying not to violate laws. Under these conditions, we will always agree," added Alexander Lukashenko.

The Russian state corporation offers Belarus an updated agenda for cooperation. The unprecedented economic pressure is making adjustments. Closer cooperation between our countries should be a response to Western sanctions, believes Igor Shuvalov. New joint projects will guarantee technological sovereignty of Belarus and Russia and create stronger economies of our countries.
