Lukashenko: We need not fines and penalties or any sanctions, but improvement of enterprises' work

Control and supervisory activities in Belarus will be improved. Approaches were discussed at a meeting with the President.

Given its importance, this is not the first time that this topic has been returned to. In 2009, an integral system of control was formed, 8 years later it was comprehensively modernized. Thus, according to the State Control Committee, in 2023 compared to 2019, the total number of inspections decreased by almost 30%. However, according to Alexander Lukashenko, the negative trends have not been eradicated.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:

“Unfortunately, the practice of multiple visits to the same enterprise on identical issues has not stopped. Controllers come one after another and demand a huge amount of documentation. In other words, they are actually engaged in bureaucratic fiddling and flea catching, as they say.

During the grain harvesting period (July-August 2022), the inspectors visited Osnezhitskoye farm 49 times. Although this farm can be considered average in terms of performance in Pinsk District. However, they made entries in the book of inspections only twice. "And as the President's aides and governors report to me, such examples, alas, are not isolated," the President noted.
