CSTO leaders sign package of documents following the summit in Minsk

The leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization countries signed a package of documents following the summit in Minsk, BelTA reports.

15 documents were submitted for signing

"All issues have been considered and approved during the meetings of the CSTO statutory bodies and are ready for signing," CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the plenary session.

A declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council was signed to underline the fundamental principles of the Organization's activity. The document expresses the CSTO's position on topical issues of international security.

A decision was also adopted on measures to develop the CSTO crisis response system. A new version of the regulation on the CSTO crisis response procedure and on the procedure for adopting and implementing collective decisions on the use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system was approved.

Another decision approved the regulations on the CSTO Joint Press Center.

Decisions were signed on a number of personnel issues. Thus, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, a representative of Russia, was appointed to the post of the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff. A decision was also taken on the distribution of quota posts in the Organization for the next three-year period.
