By Andrey Krivosheev: Both Europe and the world are facing a number of challenges these days. They include an examination of the current state of affairs in diplomacy, the fight against terrorism, including cyber-terrorism, the prevention of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and the curtailment of a new arms race.

This week, Professor Piotr Dutkiewicz of Carlton University of Canada gave an exclusive interview to The Main Air where he spoke about the current international situation. His synopsis is as simple and laconic as it gets – it is all about fear and mistrust. But the recipe for healing is the same as that offered by the official Minsk – to agree on specific problems on the international arena and stick to peacekeeping. The name of the strategy – be it the new Paris Treaty or the new Helsinki – is no longer important.
