A meeting of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on Legislation and Regulations was held in Moscow and Minsk on September 26, BELTA writes.
The meeting was attended by the Union parliamentarians, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries, the Ministry of Finance of Belarus, the Central Bank of Russia, the Belarusian Bureau of Transport Insurance and the Russian Bureau "Green Card".
In accordance with the instruction of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin, the Union deputies work on the preparation of a model legislative act "On cross-border cooperation in the Union State". During the meeting, the parliamentarians discussed the procedure of preparing the document with the interested ministries of Belarus and Russia.
Also, the agenda includes the model legislative act "On the system of compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of vehicles of the Union State," adopted at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly in June 2023 in Vitebsk. In addition, the participants of the meeting reviewed the progress in reducing the minimum period of compulsory civil liability insurance for owners of vehicles registered abroad in the Republic of Belarus, as well as the activities aimed at harmonizing the legislative framework of the Union State.
