The Belarusian delegation continues a series of talks at the BRICS summit in Johannesburg. The Foreign Minister stressed that the association has already become a self-sufficient organization, which contributes to the formation of a fairer world order and building a fairer system of economic relations.

Sergei Aleinik, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus:

The BRICS summit has started its work. Today, most of the events are held in the format of communication between the Heads of State and Government of the BRICS member countries. As a matter of principle, all the leaders of the BRICS member countries have expressed their political support for the expansion of the membership of this organization. Today, those countries that have submitted applications, including Belarus, expect to receive confirmation for early admission to the membership of this organization.

"The combined GDP of the BRICS member countries already exceeds the combined GDP of the G7 member countries. And after the completion of the process of expansion of this organization, it will significantly increase its both political and economic potential," Sergei Aleinik is confident.

By this hour, several significant meetings have already taken place. On the margins of the summit, Sergei Aleinik held talks with the President of the State of Eritrea, Foreign Minister of Equatorial Guinea and Minister of Economic Coordination of Angola. The Belarusian Foreign Minister also met with the Minister of State for International Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.
