Belarus and Russia have agreed to work out an algorithm of gas price convergence. This was announced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoy after the talks between the leaders of the two countries in Minsk, BelTA informs.

Belarus and Russia have already signed action plans to implement the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026. And, according to the ambassador, for the period until 2026, "all the issues in the gas sector have been resolved," including one of the most sensitive - pricing.

But the terms for the period after 2026 are being discussed by the parties now. "After 2026 (already being talked about today) what will be the principles of pricing for natural gas and Russian oil. There are a number of new, additional points that need to be worked out at the expert level. But globally, the presidents have set a task in accordance with the plans that were signed back in January to finalize these issues at the level of the government," said Dmitry Krutoy.

"From 2026, within the framework of the signed guidelines (and the approaches to pricing envisaged there. - BELTA's note) from the achieved level, we should work out a final algorithm for convergence of natural gas prices in Russian rubles (convergence of gas prices for Belarus with domestic Russian gas prices. - Editor's note)," the ambassador said.
