All the urgent issues of the Belarusian-Russian agenda! Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin have their finger on the pulse of bilateral cooperation.

The President of Belarus headed to Russia in the first half of the day to discuss important issues. The heads of state hold meetings on a regular basis - there were at least ten of them last year. Security and joint work on import substitution - the talks between the leaders of Belarus and Russia in Novo-Ogaryovo began with a discussion of these topics. First of all, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin noted the positive dynamics in the economy. According to the last year results, there is a record trade between the countries.

"Yesterday, by the way, I watched your press conference. I share your positions and approaches," Vladimir Putin stressed.

"As agreed, we will devote most of our time to preparing for the meeting with our colleagues from the government. As usual, we will talk about the entire range of our relations. They concern security issues, military cooperation. But the basis of everything is the economy," said the President of Russia.

Alexander Lukashenko particularly underscored that Russia and Belarus had an unprecedented turnover of goods and services in 2022: "$50 billion. About $44 billion, as you said, for goods. And more services."

Belarus and Russia are making good progress on the way of cooperation in various areas in spite of all sanctions and Western "well-wishers". All sorts of restrictions and demonstrative departures of Western companies have not become the end of the world - on the contrary. It became an opportunity for domestic producers and encouraged Belarusians and Russians to work closely together on import substitution. The machine tool engineering and microelectronics became priorities of the unified industrial policy for the states. All these are the steps toward the technological sovereignty of the Union State. And, as it turned out, we can do a lot ourselves. Minsk and Moscow stand shoulder to shoulder in defense and security issues as well.

Everything we agreed with you at the time, quite recently, three months ago, on defense and security, the Belarusian side fulfilled 100% last year.
